Bible Thoughts, Prov 29:25: Fear of Man or God?
This morning, I stumbled on Proverbs 29:25 that expresses a condition of many, including those who profess to know God.
"The fear of man brings a snare, but he who trusts in the Lord will be exalted."
Lots of us are driven by insecurity to seek approval from people around us instead of seeking God's approval. Too much "personal identity" can be bound up in a job, business, club, sport, group, or anything to let it go to please the Lord.
This proves to be a "snare." We will never find complete satisfaction in the approval and acceptance of others.
True joy, fulfillment, and happiness come from submitting to the Lord's priorities and plans for our life.
