Forgiveness Therapy (Part 3)

"Cast your cares on the Lord and He will sustain you; He will never let the righteous fall" (Psalm 55:22). Once, I listened to a man who expressed forgiveness by "rationalizing" why the other person committed a wrongdoing and acted a certain way. It's a mistaken notion that forgiveness is justifying the other person's actions. The Bible does not teach that. Forgiveness is totally acknowledging the wrongdoing or sin done by the other person and giving it up to God. He is more than enough to deal with the other person and the offense done. Each day, if you are to heal, realize that such has been done, and that you need to give Him the things that are standing in the way of living victoriously. You can be stronger, have more confidence, and real joy in the heart as you let God walk with you through this valley, so you can truly forgive.
