Do you ever wonder why certain things happen to people?

Do you ever wonder why certain things happen to people? This week, I was counseling an 11-year-old girl (and her adult aunt) in the Therapy and Wellness Unit of a TV station. She was sexually abused, never completed even Grade 1 in school, tossed to and fro by 3 step fathers, and beaten up by a mother who worked as a hostess in a bar. I got almost overtaken by compassion for this suffering girl. It's hard to understand. It doesn't "make sense." I mean, the inequity of a precious child whose life is hell on earth because of the sins of her parents... She's not alone though. There are millions among us in this planet whose sufferings and experiences defy logical explanation... Then I realize I can never have airtight answers to life's "illogical logic." That's simply because I'm human to the core, limited, finite. I'm not all-knowing. Only God is. You and I can see now, God sees forever. We can only do our part and trust God. He alone knows the big picture for humankind.

Isaiah 55:8-9 – “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, and your ways are not My ways.” This is the Lord’s declaration. “For as heaven is higher than earth, so My ways are higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts.”
