Most people are preoccupied with things that make them feel good or grin. Things like material stuff such as a new house, car, or toy; people such as family and friends; and physical beauty or health. Yet this earthly abundance has not resulted in abundance of or long-lasting happiness in our lives. More stuff doesn't make happier people! I'm reminded of Britney Spears. She has tremendous wealth and fame. Yet in one of her songs, she cries and asks, "If there's nothing missing in my life, why do these tears come at night?" Indeed, the one with the most number of toys does not necessarily emerge the smiling victor. What then could be missing?
