As I watch the story unfold in the news, I feel sad. Exposure of infidelity of a high-profile celebrity and politician, another statistic in a long list of women and men broken by the deception, lies, and betrayal of adultery. It's particularly painful in this case because of the length of time of the deception (10 years), the other woman being part of the household (20 years), and the child born from the affair. Now the understandable shock, anger, and pain have somehow forced the couple to separate from each other. My heart goes out to both. A point to grasp is that they both need recovery and healing. Indeed, this shows us again that no relationship is immune from affairs. The news can be an opportunity for us to evaluate our own personal relationships. How well do you know your loved one?
