Beating The Curse

Last week, I played a chess opponent from the United States who strangely calls himself "The Curse." I beat him in less than 30 moves! During the game, I was reflecting on the symbolism that my protagonist represents. To me, psychological or emotional disorders are a "curse" in the lives of many. To beat this curse, hiding, denying, or ignoring it will not lead to recovery and wholeness. One must prepare and choose to face, fight, and overcome it. There is simply no other way.
