Each week, I lead and facilitate a recovery life group in a city hospital, among other places. It's one of the best things I've been doing to help people heal. I join with noted psychiatrist/author Dr. M.Scott Peck in seeing the life group "coming out of hiding" in order to heal. A best way towards self healing and recovery is risk joining a life group. Since it's personal relationships that set up toxic shame and problems within us, we need to find a nonshaming, accepting, intimate social network. A key word is "intimate." We humans need to love and be loved. This is basic. Worked in the context of a caring life group, we further repair work on "damaged parts" and eventually discover our true self.
