Can't or Won't?

If you're experiencing difficulty healing from something, it's always revealing to distinguish whether it's because you CAN'T or WON'T. Let's say you have a problem controlling your rage or anger in your relationships. Is it because you lack the ability that you need support or because you are willful and foolish?

When you're depressed, all the encouragement in the world won't change things. Instead you need to work on your underlying issues so you can develop the ability you are lacking. Until your depression is processed, it's unlikely your life or activities will improve.

However, it's also possible that the reality is, willfulness and foolishness are running strongly into
your heart. We all have that desire to be god! You can't get off your throne. You resist the diligence and self-control you need to get things better.

One way to know the difference whether you CAN'T or WON'T is to look at your "patterns" or "unprocessed pains." Use wisdom, therapy/counseling, support groups, God's guidance to help you discover that.
