New Thoughts for the New Year

Henry David Thoreau once said, "In the long run, men hit only what they aim at."

This New Year 2013, how about having a new plan of action?  I know, nature does not give up her secrets that easily. And I am the first to admit that bad, unhealthy thoughts are far from being tamed completely.

On the other hand, I hope you can see the intent very clearly - which is to reduce our ignorance of why we have bad thoughts. Bad thoughts, such as impulse to harm another, unacceptable sexual thoughts, suicidal thoughts, trying to convince yourself that you haven't done wrong, hearing voices or things, avoiding people because of fears of being ridiculed etc.

Remember, if you are trying to suppress or deny your thoughts, you're not helping. You'll be making your thoughts worse. So, in order to heal our bad, unhealthy thoughts, we need to face and replace them with new, healthy thoughts. You gain strength and courage by every experience in which you really stop and aim to look to the enemy in the face.

Then you're able to say to your self, "I've gone through it. I'm ready for the next thing that comes along."
