Are you listening?
Listening is a vital part of friendship or any relationship. According to a psychological study, there is no or little difference between love and listening.
A couple once told me that they can't connect to each other. It turned out that they they can't because they won't listen to each other. Each is busy blaming and name-calling the other.
We all need to learn to listen well in conversation if we are to make a difference, impact, or connection in our relationships. To understand another person and show we care, we need to truly listen to him or her. Only then can we see the other's point of view more clearly before sharing our own.
Mark Twain once said, "A good memory and a tongue tied in the middle is a combination which gives immortality to conversation."
We can't get through life without listening. Listening is healing, memory-making, and loving.
