We Need “Camak”

“Camak” is the Hebrew word for “steadfast.”

In this period of the Coronavirus trial, we need “camak.” We all need to be steadfast in order to get to the other side.

It’s easy to lose focus during emergency crisis. We are bothered by so many things.

To be steadfast is, “refusing to stop fighting,” as Napoleon Hill would put it.

We refuse to focus on the darkness of the virus or hardships. The gloom of circumstances. The despair in our feelings.

We steadfastly trust God to work in our situation. Just be immovable in our faith. Firm and standing strong to seek the light.

The text in Isaiah 26:3 says,

“You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast, because he trusts in You.”

Steadfast also describes 49:4 of Isaiah:

“But my work seems so useless! I have spent my strength for nothing  and to no purpose. Yet I leave it all in the Lord’s hand; I will trust God for my reward.”

It appears that the Covid-19 pandemic is unlikely to end soon. Or, in the immediate future.

We all need to brace for the long haul.

Find a quiet place. Focus. Refocus. Remind your self always to be steadfast no matter what.

Peace comes through focusing on God.
