Only Two Emotions

According to writer Gerald Jampolsky, in his book “Love is Letting Go of Fear,” there are really only 2 emotions.

Love and Fear.

And, it’s up to you which one of these two you want or choose to feel.

That simple. That straightforward.

In my own life, I’ve had anger issues. At times, it made me say or do things I’m aware I’ll surely regret later on.

It took a process for me to see that when I’m angry, it’s because underneath the anger I’m really afraid.

Afraid of painful things, like betrayal, rejection, injustice, loss or deprivation.

When I realized that more clearly and deeply, I started to feel compassion.

Compassion for my self. Compassion for others.

Rather than fear.

Times when I simply let things run their course without letting my self get too angry or upset.

Because ... I choose love.

“There is no fear in love, but perfect love drives out fear.” (1 John 4:18)
