As human beings, we have essential and universal aspects of what it means to be human.
In her book, “The Journey from Abandonment to Healing,” therapist and author Susan Anderson calls them “cornerstones” of self.
There are four of these “cornerstones” she cited that we all need to face, accept, protect, and nurture in order to be truly human.
One, accept your separateness as a person.
Two, celebrate the importance of your existence.
Three, confront and transform your reality.
Four, increase your capacity for love.
Close your eyes.
Imagine that you have unlimited resources.
Be a virtual architect of your own life as a human being.
You should be able to celebrate your separateness, the importance of your existence, your ability to accept reality, and your capacity for love.
