Avoid being manipulated. There will always be people out there who can attempt to do that to you.
It’s stressful. When you’ve to deal with people like that, especially when it happens regularly.
Therapists and authors Stephen Palmer and Christine Wilding identified a few of those ways people can try to sway you, namely:
* keeping a narrow focus
* laugh about it
* “poor me” and tears
* interested enquiry

So, discern well. Decide ahead of time and make a note of these manipulative ways so you can avoid them.
