Your Self, Your Idol?

Has it ever crossed your mind that you could be practicing self-idolatry?

You worship your self, whether knowingly or unknowingly. Such act or mindset is founded on inner insecurity.

Mental health professionals call it by different or alternative names: egotism, selfishness, self-entitlement, vanity, delusion, counterfeit god, among others.

It’s the opposite of healthy self-love, which is wholly based upon the foundation of inner security and spirituality.

“I’m God’s appointed son!” preached Apollo Quiboloy to masses of people attending his cult group.

The poison of Quiboloy is an example of deadly self-idolatry.

When your perception is reality and truth is not, you need protection from your self.

The worst idol we can have is ourselves.

Beware of self-idolatry.

“Do not turn to idols or make for yourselves any gods ... I am the Lord your God.” (Leviticus 19:4)
