Why You Own Nothing

What does billionaire Manny Villar and Tondo squatter dweller Pedro have in common?

Both were born naked. Both will die naked.

All of life, the world forces us the illusion to focus on externals for your “net worth.”

But when you apply them to the stretch of life - youth, aging, illness, death, and world beyond - leaves us absolutely nothing.

We actually own nothing. We don’t even own our body and life.

So be careful how you define your worth or identity while walking the earth.

It’s dangerous to locate your worth or identity in vulnerable externals that pass away.

Your true, lasting worth and identity is only in God.

Then the temporary possessions entrusted to you takes on a larger meaning based on God’s purpose for your life.

Born naked. Die naked. Live with purpose, in-between.

“Now when David had served God’s purpose in his own generation, he fell asleep; he was buried with his ancestors and his body decayed.” (Acts 13:36)

“For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.” (Philippians 1:21)
